With curatorial and research work by Abril Zales, the exhibition proposes a reading of movement as a transformative action and its impact on the collective. The show brings together works by Mexican and international artists from different generations, inviting viewers to rediscover the power of moving individually and supporting the collective will of movement.
As part of her statement, Abril Zales expresses: “The Gesture and the Invisible pays special attention to other ways of preserving movement: its embodiment in the first person and the strength of sharing it collectively; the possibility of leaving an imprint on the body, participating in it, and stimulating the power to move together, because those who move do not remain indifferent.”
Participating artists: Anthony McCall, Brendan Fernandes, Bruce Nauman, Calixto Ramírez, Cally Spooner, Julio LeParc, Mayra Silva, Marcelo Brodsky, Renée Rhodes, Rita Ponce de León, Samara Colina, Trisha Brown, and William Forsythe.
