At artnexus we document Latin American art with the same editorial rigor we apply to our publications since 1976. This section explains the criteria we follow to catalog artworks and artists, as well as our policies on preservation, digitization and the ongoing update of our documentary archive.
Every artwork and artist profile added to the platform goes through an editorial verification process that considers authorship, provenance, technique, date of creation and historical-artistic context. We prioritize primary sources, catalogues raisonnés, direct interviews and archives from partner galleries and institutions, always cross-checking information before publishing it.
We organize our archive by country, artistic movement, technique and period, and we also link each artwork to the artist's career and to the institutions, galleries or fairs where it has been exhibited. This classification system allows readers, researchers and collectors to navigate the catalogue across categories and find connections between creators, periods and currents in Latin American art.
Artnexus's editorial archive, built over five decades, is preserved in both physical and digital format to ensure its permanence. We work continuously to preserve historical editions of the magazine and to provide remote access to this material through the platform, so researchers and art lovers can consult it from anywhere.
The images, texts and other materials documented on artnexus are protected by copyright and belong to their respective artists, galleries, institutions or photographers. Any use, publication for research purposes or reproduction request requires proper authorization; for this we provide a direct contact channel with our editorial team.
For years we have been working on the progressive digitization of our historical archive, including printed editions of the magazine published since 1976. This process combines high-resolution scanning, content indexing and smart search tools that make it easier to locate articles, interviews and artwork reproductions within our digital catalogue.
The catalogue of artists, artworks and institutions is updated on an ongoing basis based on new exhibitions, acquisitions, interviews and editorial collaborations. Our team periodically reviews published information to correct data, add new pieces and keep the archive aligned with the current activity of the Latin American art ecosystem.
If you are an artist, gallerist, researcher, or represent an institution and would like to propose content, correct existing information or collaborate with our documentary archive, contact us through the form available in the Contact section. We are happy to review every proposal to keep enriching the memory of Latin American art.
