Professional Experience
He has taught in the three levels of fine arts education in Cuba. Among the many books he has illustrated, there are several by Gabriel García Márquez.
He has been part of the jury in national and international fine arts contests, and his work has been recognized by the State Council of the Republic of Cuba, who granted him the Medal for National Culture and the Alejo Carpentier medal. He¿s a member of the Unión Nacional de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (National Union of Cuban Writers and Artists) (UNEAC) and the Asociación Internacional de Artistas Plásticos (International Association of Fine Arts Artists) (AIAP).

He has held approximately 26 individual shows and more than 300 collective shows in more than 20
countries, to wit: Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Cuba, Denmark, Spain, United States,
France, Hungary, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Panama, Venezuela, and Yugoslavia.
