The Boston Museum of Science was founded in 1830 as the Boston Society of Natural History and it was only until 1939 that it was renamed to The Boston Museum of Science. It was founded by a collection of men who wished to share scientific interests, promote people to be informed by the world of science and technology, inspire appreciation of the importance and impact of science and engineering and encourage people to explore and develop their interests in understanding the natural and human made world.
