
The origins of the Museum are linked to the figure of Benigno de la Vega-Inclán, II Marquis de la Vega-Inclán, philanthropist and patron who wanted to publicize the heritage of the period that delimited between 1808 and 1860, and also founder of the Museum El Greco de Toledo and the Casa de Cervantes Museum in Valladolid.
