The Archaeological Museum of Venice, located in St. Mark's Square, offers an important collection of ancient, Greek and Roman sculptures; there are bronzes, ceramics, buds and coins, and of course the archaeological collection given by the Museo Correr, which includes Egyptian antiquities and Babylonian Asiros as well.
This is because Domenico Grimani (son of the doge Antonio Grimani) donated in 1523 to the State all his Roman and Greek sculptures.
