The CCBB Rio de Janeiro occupies the historic 66st of Rua Primeiro de Março, in the center of the city that in the past was connected to finance and business. Its foundation stone was launched in 1880, materializing a project of Francisco Joaquim Bethencourt da Silva (1831-1912), architect of the Imperial House, founder of the Society Propagating Fine Arts and the Lyceum of Arts and Crafts.In the 1920s it was transofrmed to Banco do Brasil’s headquaters.
