Tate Modern presents until May 7, 2017, the exhibition titled "The Radical Eye: Modernist Photography from the Sir Elton John Collection. This is the first time that the London institution presents one of the most important collections of photography from the classic modernist period that expanded from the 1920s to the1950s. It consists of a collection of portraits brought together by Elton John, including portraits of Man Ray, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, and André Breton. In addition to the artists already mentioned, "The Radical Eye…" includes works by over 70 artists and nearly 150 rare vintage prints by creators like Brassaï, Imogen Cunningham, André Kertész, Dorothea Lange, Tina Modotti, and Aleksandr Rodchenko. This personal collection by the musician contains more than 2,000 photographs collected since 1991. The group of images includes important pieces by artists from Europe and the US. It also has works by some of the most important photographers in Japan, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.
