To celebrate its 85th anniversary, the New York Design Center building underwent a remodeling headed by the firm Conant Architects. Constructed on 152,400 square meters and located at 200 Lexington Avenue, the building was originally designed by US architect Ely Jacques Kahn and was built in 1926. The Design Center was built in the same period and has stayed at the same address since then. Additionally, the Center¿s logo and homepage were also redesigned. The work by the architectural firm focused on maintaining the originality of the building and presenting a concept that fulfills the needs of visitors today. The lobby boasts new signs accompanied by an enormous reception lamp. The firm included two reception desks and the building¿s lighting was replaced with led lights. The tenth floor is occupied in its entirety-around 10,000 square meters-by1stdibs, the largest store in the US that sells antique and contemporary design and art pieces.
