From February 11 to June 29, 2014, the Centro Nacional de las Artes (CENART), in collaboration with the Fundación Juan Soriano and Marek Keller A.C. present the exhibition Juan Soriano. Abstraction in Liberty.
The exhibition will be shown at the Galería Juan Soriano of the Biblioteca de las Artes. It will consist of 30 pieces created between 1955 and 2005, including paintings, sculptures, drawings and enamels, in which deities, animals and nature combine to lead viewers to an abstract place of volumes and forms.
After 8 years since Soriano's death, Mark Keller, Director of the Fundación Juan Soriano, presents never before exhibited works like Avión (Plane), Pájaro I (Bird I) and Pájaro II (Bird II). Many of the works on display belong to collections in Europe. Another work also included in the exhibition is Batalla de Amor (Battle of Love, 1960), a piece that the foundation has just acquired and that Soriano had sold to a private collection in New York during the 1960s.
