Banksy in Venice

The British artist Banksy appeared spontaneously on the streets of Venice, during the 58th edition of the Venice Biennial, with a nine-piece framed painting titled "Venice in Oil," that featured a cruise ship sailing through the Venetian Grand Canal alluding to the ongoing controversy of overtourism in Venice, to be later displaced by the city's police. He posted on his Instagram account on Wednesday, May 22nd the video of his arrival with his stall, setting up the nine-piece artwork and the various reactions from the local crowd and tourists, later being kicked off by the venetian police. The last scene adverts the cruise ship portrayed in his installation while he walks away with his stall. The post accompanying the video reads "Setting out my stall at the Venice Biennale.Despite being the largest and most prestigious art event in the world, for some reason I've never been invited." https://www.instagram.com/p/BxxOKYflVSl/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
