Announcing the Curatorial Program for Research CPR – an intensive research program for international curators.

The Curatorial Program for Research (CPR) is an intensive research program for international curators. CPR focuses on introducing cultural localities, the versatility of artistic practices, and production realities to the participating curators, in order to enable and facilitate their professional development. For Curators and by Curators, CPR was established in 2015, with headquarters in Indianapolis and Stockholm, and is a vastly expanding network of international non-profit organizations and curatorial hosts in over 10 cities. With a program that decentralizes the practice and avoids saturated markets, CPR has the objective of fostering international dialogues between diverse cities. Merging academia with on site research, CPR local hosts will welcome the groups with an intensive program that includes readings and classes about local history, arts and culture, as well as visits to studios and other local art institutions and endeavors. By facilitating these encounters with curatorial peers, other art workers and organizations as well as artists and networks at large, CPR creates a professional support structure with an international scope. Accordingly, within its programming CPR will produce exhibitions and publications. Launching http://www.curatorialprogram.org on May 13th, 2015. CPR was founded by Directors Carmen Ferreyra (Founder and Director, Brooklyn) and Aura Seikkula (Co-founder and Head of Programs and Development, Stockholm). CPR program is hosted by a team of international curators: Carolina Castro Jorquera (CPR Host, Santiago de Chile); Marta Ramos-Yzquierdo (CPR Host, São Paulo, Brazil); Bernardo Sopelana (CPR Host, Baja California and Mexico City, Mexico); Marina Reyes Franco (CPR Host San Juan, Puerto Rico and Buenos Aires, Argentina); Bruno Leitão (CPR Host, Lisbon, Portugal); Luisa Espino (CPR Host, Madrid, Spain); Ondrej Stupal (CPR Host, Prague, Czech Republic); and Karin Laansoo (CPR Host, Tallin, Estonia). The first CPR program will take place in Eastern and Northern during the Fall of 2015, and will be launched on July 30, 2015. During Art Marbella, CPR will announce its open call, welcoming submissions from both emerging and established curators. For more information please contact: Carmen Ferreyra
