The Christian and Karen Boros Collection (Sammlung Boros) is located in a converted bunker built in 1942. At the end of the Second World War, the place was used as a prison by the Red Army and later served as a storage facility for tropical fruits imported from Cuba. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, it became a techno nightclub and, in 2008, it was reconditioned to house the Sammlung Boros, one of Berlin's most exclusive cultural spaces. The Collection offers an exhibition every four years featuring international art produced between 1990 and today. Visits must be scheduled in advance by making a reservation online at the collection's homepage. Because the guided-only visits are organized in groups of twelve from Thursday to Sunday, there is a months-long waiting list. The displayed works are not accompanied by information labels, so it is upon the tour guides—mostly art students—to explain the artists' backgrounds and offer brief reviews of the works. The bunker was revamped to be suitable for art exhibitions. Its galleries currently expand across a 3,000 square meter space. The group of works presented on this occasion include pieces by Martin Boyce, Andreas Eriksson, Guan Xiao, He Xiangyu, Uwe Henneken, Yngve Holen, Sergej Jensen, Daniel Josefsohn, Friedrich Kunath, Michel Majerus, Fabian Marti, Kris Martin, Justin Matherly, Peter Piller, Katja Novitskova, Pamela Rosenkranz, Avery Singer, and Johannes Wohnseifer.
