Y.ES Announces Art Trip Recipients

The art program Y.ES announced the four winners of an Art Trip that will explore El Salvador. From September 4th-11th curators Max Weintraub (Indiana), Jaime Ceron (Bogota), Luisa Fuentes Guaza (Madrid) and artist Oscar Diaz (New York), will be joining the Y.ES team for a significantly immersive introduction to the contemporary art and culture of the country. The four recipients will have time to engage with Salvadoran artists, in hopes of advancing professional development in the artistic community of El Salvador and offering a myriad of opportunities to those who are part of it. Y.ES is on a mission – and to emphasize that, the program also recently announced its first grant project. This new installment seeks to support these artists in countries where their ambitions and aspirations may not be so attainable, given that governmental and institutional support is not provided. With these actions set in motion, Y.ES continues the legacy of Robert Wennett and Mario Cader-Frech, who made personal investments to artists of El Salvador, contributing greatly to both their lives and careers.
