The Fundación Marcelino Botín announces the fifteenth edition of its visual art scholarships, which to date have benefited 97 international artists at different stages of their careers. The scholarships are directed toward education, research, and individual projects. At the end of the scholarship period, the Foundation will also present the exhibit Itinerarios (Itineraries) and a catalog of the works by the artists who were awarded the scholarships. The scholarship also covers traveling expenses, accommodations, studio upkeep and rent, and tuition for the institution chosen for the academic scholarship, as well as health insurance when traveling is involved. Scholarship holders who will not be changing their addresses will receive 16,000 Euros, those moving to another country will receive 24,000 Euros, and those moving to the U.S. will be awarded 28,000. The call is open to individuals of any nationality. For academic scholarships, the applicant must be between 23 and 40 years of age. The deadline for applications is May 4, 2009.
