From October 1st to 4th 2007 the 41st Congress of the International Association of Art Critics (Congreso de la Asociación Internacional de Críticos de arte - AICA) took place. The objective of the meeting was to examine the role of art criticism in relation to the institutionalization of contemporary art in the cultural context of our time, and to discuss the current processes of the communication of art. Besides including conferences and open talks, the AICA congress had institutional visits to cultural centers in the Brazilian capital.
