XI Pilar Citoler International Biennial of Contemporary Photography Award
The University of Cordoba, Spain, announces the call for entries for the XI edition of the Pilar Citoler International Biennial Award for Contemporary Photography. The deadline for entries is October 22.
Visual artists of any nationality may participate in the international contest. The jury chaired by Pilar Citoler and made up by: Jorge Fuembuena (winner of the tenth edition); Bea Espejo (art critic in 'El País' and curator); Álvaro Rodríguez Fominaya (curator and cultural manager), and Lola Durán Úcar (curator, critic, and researcher/lecturer), will value the winner's artistic career, international projection, and insertion in the discourse of contemporary photography.
-Artists can participate with a single work in a photographic technique, admitting the presentation of diptychs, polyptychs, and other formats, if the maximum size (200 x 200 cm) is noted. Artistic collectives may also apply.
-Applications must be submitted on a physical support (USB or similar) through the university's registry.

Information of the work: author's name, title, dimensions, date, media, and economic appraisal.
Dossier with curriculum, trajectory, selection of works, texts.
File of the image of the work, according to the parameters of the contest.
The award grants several recognitions, with its economic recognition of 15,000 euros (the corresponding tax deductions will be applied), a solo exhibition and a catalog of the finalists' works, and a monograph on their work within the collection 'El Ojo Que Ves,' edited by UCOPress-Editorial Universidad de Córdoba of which nine volumes have already been published, carefully edited in collaboration with important national publishers.
The decision of the XI edition will be made public next December, along with the opening at the UCOCultura Center of the exhibition that brings together the works of the finalists, which this year, for the first time, will be shown separately from the solo exhibition of the winner of the previous edition.
