With José Luis Barrios, Sylvia Navarrete and José Manuel Springer as curators, the show agglutinated 19 artists from different latitudes (Argentina, Spain, Mexico) who contributed their esthetic visions on the wide range of possibilities that living with technology presents to the artist. The theme of this year¿s biennial was Arms and Tools, and the binomial art-technology was made present in the construction of the pieces, in the final finish and in the way the spectator could interpret the works. Technology has slowly been becoming implanted under the skin of human beings. The life of man and technological advances influence and even interfere in his relationship with the environment from which he is unwrapping himself. The artist - sensitive and open to daily happenings - also participates in this phenomenon. This was the premise for the tenth edition of the Bancomer Art Salon that could be appreciated in the Carlos Pellicer room of the Museum of Modern Art. As has been the case every year for a decade, Bancomer put together a collection that serves as an important show in contemporary Latin American art.
