The call for the X Caixanova International Engraving Biennale is underway for the Julio Prieto Nespereira Award. Engravers of any nationality may apply. Each engraver may submit up to two never-before-exhibited original works that have not been previously presented for other competitions. Any traditional engraving techniques may be utilized, such as strong water, aquatint, dry point, burin, soft-ground etching, mezzotint, linoleum cut, xylography, etc. No work that employs lithographic, serigraphic, offset, and any other type of mechanical printing process may be submitted. The works must be framed and have a label on the back specifying the title, technique used, and the artist¿s full name. The size of the paper cannot be smaller than 50 cm on it smallest side and cannot exceed 70 × 100 cm. A separate envelope must be submitted with the artist¿s information, such as given and last names, a National Identification Document (DNI, by its Spanish acronym) or an equivalent ID document if the applicant is from abroad, date and place of birth, telephone number, and a brief signed and dated résume. A complete technical label tag of the work must also be included, along with the sale price and insurance value in case of sale.
