The Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Wifredo Lam presents until February 23 of 2013 the exhibition entitled Wifredo Lam: Between Painting and Engraving.
The exhibition celebrates the 110thanniversary of the Cuban artist's birth and showcases 72 works created between 1941 and 1976.
Among the works are those never shown before from his period in Haiti, a country he visited with André Bretón.
Sixty-eight works belong to the MuseoNacional de BellasArtes in Cuba and 4 lithographs were loaned by artist AlexysLeyva"Kcho."
No other exhibition by Lam of this magnitude and scope has been presented since the one organized to celebrate his 100th birthday. The exhibition will be complemented with documentaries about the artist.
