"Why I love Barcelona" Art Competition

Generator, a European tourism company, announces the opening of the call "Why I love Barcelona."

The call is open to artists of legal age, of any nationality, who are interested in urban art, drawing and illustrations, among other artistic disciplines. Generator intends to leave a permanent installation of the winning pieces in the company's new headquarters in Barcelona.

Candidates must submit 3 to 5 works of their authorship that convey their take on the global landscape. The deadline to submit all works is February 8, 2013. The jury will be entrusted with the pre-selection of 20 candidates, who will then be contacted one week later. They will be asked to submit one sample piece that centers on the theme of the competition. The deadline to fulfill that request is March 11, 2013.

The jury will select two winners. Each will be asked to produce a single original work. These works will be permanently displayed in the two large areas of the new headquarters.

The winners will receive a voucher for 400 sterling pounds each, to cover traveling costs and the 6-night stay at any of the places owned by Generator around Europe. Additionally, they will be included in several advertising spaces. The 18 artists that were pre-selected will be invited to the inaugural event at the Generator in Barcelona.

The jury is formed by Anwar Mekhayech, head designer and co-founder of The Design Agency.
