On December 2, 2012, Britain-based gallery White Cube opened its doors in São Paulo, Brazil, with You Don't Believe in Love But I Believe in You, its inaugural exhibit featuring the work of British artist Tracey Emin. This is Emin's first show in Brazil. Through February 23, it presented to the public a selection of works in various supports, including neon sculptures, paintings, gouaches, drawing and embroidery monotypes, and a series of sculptures. Emin's exhibition is a continuation of Antony Gormley' Facts and Systems, the gallery's special launching project in São Paulo, which was held May 9 through July 15, 2012 at Rua Agostino Rodríguez Filho 550.
White Cube São Paulo recently named Karla Meneghel as its director. Meneghel helmed the Camargo Vilaça gallery (now Fortes Vilaça) alongside renowned gallerist Marcantonio Vilaça (1962-2000).
