Beatriz Milhazes' work has been intertwined with the particular traditions of different territories, their music, carnivals, popular celebrations, and cultural identity of Brazil. Since the 1990 her art has been characterized also by its composition based on monotype and collage. Jose Augusto Ribeiro analyzes the artist's paintings and her process from the 1980s, when Milhazes first emerged to the Brazilian art scene, through her most recent production. Read the article
