Virgilio Garza appointed head of Christie?s Latin American Art Department in New York.

Specialist in modern and contemporary Latin American art, Virgilio Garza has an extensive professional career in the world of art. Before his appointment as head of Christie¿s Latin American Art Department in New York, Virgilio was the director of New York¿s Ramis Barquet Gallery. He had previously been the Head of the Research Department of the Museum of Monterrey, where he also worked as curator of exhibitions among others, those of Bernd and Hilla Becher, Cindy Sherman and Robert Mapplethorpe. Garza has a master¿s degree in Curatorial Studies from Bard College¿s Center of Curatorial Studies, as well as a Diploma in Communication Sciences, from Monterrey¿s Higher Studies and Technological Institute.
