The Fundación Botín announces an international call that offers two study grants for comprehensive Curatorial Studies centered on museum management and the organization of exhibitions. The studies must be oriented toward a specialization on contemporary art, from the perspective of today¿s leading artistic currents. Participants must have completed an undergraduate degree or be currently in a graduate program in Fine Arts, Art History, Philosophy and Aesthetics, Literature, Humanities, or Criticism; or be an art professional who, despite not fulfilling the aforementioned conditions, is nonetheless able to demonstrate his/her proficiency in any of those fields. The grant consists of 18,000 euros,to cover traveling, lodging, and living expenses, among other things, plus 12,000 euros to pay for the registration fees at the educational institution selected by the winner. These grants are subject to any taxes applicable in Spain. These study grants will be available immediately after being granted, for the agreed time period, and without interruption. They must begin to be used before the end of 2011. This financial aid can be used solely by the grantee and it is indivisible and nontransferable. It is not intended to cover family expenses and cannot be used in conjunction with the financial aid of any other institution. Applicants must submit a correctly filled application form, along with a copy of the national ID card, passport-sized photos, home address, telephone number, email, etc. Participants must also submit a C.V. with a description of the studies completed, professional activities, grants, etc. A copy of the academic record must also be attached along with any diploma and/or any other proof of studies completed. Likewise, applicants must include a written letter that specifies the reasons for requesting the study grant, the connections between their former education and the studies sought, as well as the reasons behind the selection of any particular academic institution. Any incomplete applications will be rejected. The documentation submitted for this call will not be returned. If not submitted online, proposals cannot be bound or stapled, and must be presented on DinA4 size paper (one-sided).
