The MUAC - Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo of Mexico City presents the exhibition "Devenir Tierra” (Becoming Earth) by Swiss artist Ursula Biemann. In this exhibition, Biemann invites viewers to reflect on the relationship between humans and the Earth amidst a global environmental crisis. Through her video essays, the artist delves into forest ecologies, the impact of oil, and extractivist projects, emphasizing the importance of storytelling and the interaction between Western science and ancestral knowledge.
With a visual and auditory poetics, Biemann proposes a journey that reflects on the interconnections woven throughout the natural world, promoting multispecies dialogues for the preservation of healthy ecosystems. Additionally, the exhibition highlights the artist's research work and initiatives in projects such as "Devenir Universidad" (Becoming University), which seeks to create an indigenous university in Colombia led by the Inga community, and "Forest Mind," which explores the intelligence of nature and its relationship with contemporary science.
