A taxi driver returns engravings by Salvador Dali left in his cab

In Barcelona, a group of engravings by the famous Spanish artist Salvador Dalí were left behind in the taxi of Mr. Alfonso Muñoz. Belonging to an art collector, the works had been taken to a gallery in a Barcelona to be evaluated, and were left behind in the taxi by the person in charge of transporting them. Almost immediately after his client stepped out of the cab, Muñoz said he noticed the artworks and tried to catch up with the person was unable to do so. What he first believed to be a package with photographic albums, surprisingly turned out to be a group of engravings signed by Dalí. Muñoz said that his thoughts at the moment were: ¿either this isn¿t worth a thing or it has a great value¿. The person who was transporting the engravings addressed a journal from Barcelona and several radio stations in order to broadcast the loss; luckily, the ads lead to the recovery of the artworks. The value of the 13 engravings is estimated at 118.000 euros, and complete a series of 100 works printed at the Parisian Rigault Workshop in 1969. They were used to illustrate a luxury edition of the book Alice in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll, printed in Japan.
