The exhibition "An Uncertain Pleasure: Arts of Time in the Pierre Huber Collection," curated by Eugenio Viola, seeks to explore the arts of time through fundamental artists in the medium's history, such as Nam June Paik and Tony Oursler. This show reviews four decades of multimedia art in one of the most internationally renowned private collections of contemporary art, the one of gallerist Pierre Huber.
On the four floors of the MAMBO and divided into four thematic axes: sociopolitical questions; identity politics; the representation and fragmentation of the body; performativity and performance; and globalization and diaspora. Some of the works include those produced between the 1990s and the 2000s by artists from North America and Europe, such as Fischli & Weiss, Catherine Sullivan, Francesco Vezzoli, Rodney Graham, Paul Pfeiffer, Isaac Julien or Tino Sehgal; but also from Asia, Central, and South America, Africa, and Oceania, like William Kentridge, Kimsooja, Shirin Neshat, Candice Breitz, Manon De Boer, Tracey Moffatt or Mariko Mori.
The exhibition will be on view until February 5, 2023. From October 29 to January 23, 2023, it will also be presented at the exhibition hall of the Cinemateca Distrital in Bogota.
