Last days to visit “Fieldwork: Francisca Benítez”

The exhibition's title intentionally plays with words: fieldwork, in the cadastral sense, refers to a method of observation and data collection on cultures, environments, and practices, while fieldwork in the sense of working the land and agricultural work.
Francisca Benítez (Chile, 1974) is a multidisciplinary artist born in Chile. Through photography, video, and a wide variety of combined media, her practice explores the relationships between space, politics, and language. Her work is notable for its strong connections to the places she inhabits and the communities she engages with. From her video and photographic documentaries on ephemeral architecture to her performances concerning property lines, her work questions the territorial political systems that shape the contemporary city. This solo exhibition, curated by Joselyne Contreras, celebrates the artist's fiftieth birthday and brings together some of her most significant works from the past two decades.
The exhibition is possible thanks to the support of Die Ecke Arte Contemporáneo and funding from Fondart, call 2024.;
