We heard that the last presentation of Spencer Tunick took place in the French city of Lyon, were, as always, hundreds of people stripped naked in the name of art. The 1,500 volunteers gathered before dawn to join the latest nude photo shoot by the New York artist. Always directed by Tunick, they posed with arms and legs in the air between shipping containers in Lyon¿s port, which represented the mystery of commerce. They also posed on a waterfront where the rivers Saone and Rhone join, a meeting point the artist liked to think of ¿as the legs of a woman¿. Tunick has held previous shoots in New York, Belgium, London, Brazil and Barcelona, where he carried out the world¿s largest nude photo shoot in June 2003 (7,000 volunteers). His latest photographs will go on display in Lyon in November, as part of the city¿s modern art festival.
