Curated by John Ángel Rodríguez, this exhibition presents visitors with a selection of works of art transmitted through the three media that are unique to the digital field, precisely the terms mentioned in the title (transparency, fluidity, and mediation) as a media metaphor. In this project, transparency, fluidity, and mediation are not presented as univocal determinations, but as catalysts for intangible works of art. The works selected here have crystallized in digital audiovisual formats. The fluidity of a plasma screen, the transparency of the surface on which the videos are projected, and the media capacity of software-based graphic manipulation are the elements that make it possible for the audience to appreciate how some of the works on exhibit are situated along the spectrum between artistic conception and the creative mediation of technological devices, which can act as mediators in the service of art or any other field of knowledge. This project takes on the task of mediating from a media perspective, where the notion of telematics affords both the artworks and their creators the possibility of interacting with the audience. This "telematic" dynamic between artist-user-viewer has made it possible to expand the range of beneficiaries and consumers of contemporary art, bringing the works of diverse artists from varied origins to cultural spheres that exist outside the most exclusive realms. The broadening of networks within the digital sphere has made it possible for a new audience to be in contact with works of art and to appreciate them, especially thanks to the many points of access such as interactive websites, virtual reality games, and, in a more basic sense, stationary and mobile works presented in a digital format. The selection of works in this show have been either made or compiled digitally. The exhibition thus allows us to enjoy sculptures, impossible objects, performances, and actions that can be observed by means of installations and projection formats in the ASAB gallery space. Included in the show are: Quayola & Sinigaglia, Jenny Holzer, Universal Everything, Ryoichi Kurokaga, Scanner, Yoko Ono, Jake & Dinos Chapman, AES+F, Field, Hermn Kolgen, Sophie Kahn, Marion Tampon-Lajarriette, Memo Akten, Shu Lea Cheang, Zimoun, Mitch Statten, and Angel Plessas.
