The Boca Raton Museum of Art and the 63rd edition of the yearly "All Florida Juried Exhibition" Prize announced the latter event's first-place winner: Tony Vazquez. The Venezuelan artist presented an old coffeemakers made using bitumen, a side product of crude oil processing. These works make reference to the socio-economic situation of Vasquez's native country today. Vasquez was selected from among more than 53 artists from 27 cities in Florida by the Chief Curator Trong Gia Nguyen. The Museum presented a group exhibition with the finalists between August and October, 2014. This Prize is the oldest in Florida and it presents unknown, emerging, mid-career, and established artists working on any medium.
