With the intention of promoting the creation of works of art developed under technological projects, "Objeto a" presents the Third Kosice Biennial: Kosicean Utopias.
This biennial is a Latin American competition established to stimulate creation, experimentation, and research in works of art, science, and technology inspired in the work of Gyula Kosice.
The call is open to Latin American artists 18 or older, emerging or established. Foreign-born artists can participate as members of Argentinean collectives, as long as they do not represent more than 50% of the number of members.
Interested participants must submit the registration form, a technical card, biography, documentation, and extra materials. Materials must be submitted between January 15th and March 15th, 2014 via email to bienalkosice@objeto-a.com.ar, and also via physical mail in a digital format (CD or DVD, properly labeled) along with the registration form printed and signed by the artist and/or representative in the case of artists' collectives, to "Objeto a", Niceto Vega 5181. 1414 – Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires- Argentina. Acceptable submissions are: interactive installations; water, light, sound, or kinetic installations; multimedia installations; sculptural, water, light, or kinetic objects; mapping on non-traditional surfaces; objectual works with development for the Web, robotics, bio-art; generative art, and others.
First-prize winner will receive $30,000 Argentinean pesos. Second Prize is $10,000 Argentinean pesos.
The jury will be comprised of Rodrigo Alonso, Graciela Taquini, Mariela Staude, and Tomás Oulton. Gyula Kosice will serve as President of the jury.
All works receiving prizes and mentions will be featured in Tercera Bienal Kosice. Utopías Kosiceanas, an exhibition at the Borges Cultural Center, scheduled for September of 2014.
