About the exhibition, Ernesto Muñoz comments: "In times of Pandemic, where does art stand? We know, without a doubt, that art, throughout history, has been relevant in times of tension, and the current situation seems a good starting point for new creations. The creative impulse went from the early days' stupor to the adaptation to a new way of relating and following. Also, in these times, we have seen the articulation and establishment of new behaviors, artistic narratives, and unexpected movements that are still in process."
This is how the Latin American curators and artists aimed to respond to this challenge from their viewpoint, the global drama that afflicts us in the present time, delving into the new questions that have arisen because of the health, environmental, humanitarian, and economic crises brought about by confinement and disease.
The exhibition bears witness to movements and concerns raised during this period. They will be active virtually and in-person with works in a 50 x 50 cm format and videos. "We hope that the different responses will open us to new directions, modes of creation, and the questions that arise will be reflected in works that respond to a new Latin American imaginary product of this transition, marking an exciting phase shared throughout our continent," Ernesto Muñoz added.
