During the SP-Arte fair last April 5-9th a number of awards, grants and donations took place, contributing to the growing arts community and institutions in Brazil. The ArtNexus EFG Award nomination of Daniel de Paula's work featured at Galeria Jaqueline Martins. Since 2013, SP-Arte and ICCo – Instituto de Cultura Contemporânea offer an artist residency to two or three emerging artists, represented by galleries taking part in the Fair. This year's winners were Marcelo Moscheta and Bruno Baptistelli. The winner awarded with the Illy Sustain Art Prize was Brazilian artist Dalton Paula, represented by the Gallery Sé The SP-Arte/Videobrasil 2015 award winner and participant, Haroon Gunn-Salie, was chosen to do a solo exhibition during SP-Arte/2016, at Galpão_VB. Among the various donations that took place during this year's edition of SP ARTE were: Rio de Janeiro, 15 de novembro de 1889, by Ivan Grilo (Luciana Caravello Arte Contemporânea), Mínimo esforço I, by Vivian Caccuri; Fósforo, by João Angelini ; Bandeira nacional #5, by Jaime Lauriano (Galeria Leme); Untitled, by Nino Cais (Casa Triângulo), purchased and donated by collector Cleusa Garfinkel to MAR. Garfinkel also donated Untitled, by Laura Lima (Galeria Luisa Strina) and Parangolé, by Lourival Cuquinha (Baró Galeria) to Núcleo Contemporâneo MAM-SP. Three more Brazilian collectors donated works to Núcleo Contemporâneo MAM-SP, while Iguatemi São Paulo (Brazilian shopping mall company) donated works by Marepe, Caio Reisewitz and Pitagoras Lopes to MAC USP and Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo.
