Sony World Photography Awards opens its call for photographers and artists in four categories: Professional, Open, Student, and Youth, free entries. Since its inception 16 years ago, it has been considered one of the most prestigious photography competitions in the world for elevating the careers of photographers, both established and new.
The Sony World Photography Awards aim to establish a platform for the continued development of photographic culture. To this end, the awards recognize significant contributions to photography through the Outstanding Contribution to Photography Award and also participate in the search for new talents of the future, allowing them to become known and participate in exhibitions around the world.
Professional Competition: you can submit a series of photos, win $25,000, top-quality Sony equipment, and an exhibition. If you live in Latin America, you will be automatically entered for the Latin America Professional Award.
Open Competition: you can submit your best individual images, win $5000, premium Sony equipment, and an exhibition. Your entry will be considered for the Alpha Female Award if you register as a female when you create your account—based in Latin America? You will be automatically entered in the new Latin America National Awards 2022 call for entries.
Youth competition: dedicated to young photographers between 12 and 19 years old. The first prize is premium Sony equipment and an exhibition.
Student Competition: serves as a platform for photography students worldwide. The first prize is premium Sony equipment plus an exhibition.

Sony World Photography Awards 2023 begins June 1, 2022, at 13:00 (BST).
-Student competition closes on November 30, 2022, at 13:00 (GMT)
-Youth competition closes on January 6, 2023, at 13:00 (GMT)
-The open Competition (including the National & Regional Awards, the Latin America National Awards, and the Alpha Female Award) closes on January 6, 2023, at 13:00 (GMT)
-The professional Competition (including the Latin America Professional Award) closes on January 13, 2023, at 13:00 (GMT).
