Solita Mishaan, founder of the Fundación Misol and Mayte Spínola-Barreiros, founder of the Proarte y Cultura association, were recognized with the Ibero-American Patronage Award. In its first edition, the award is given every year to two art patrons, one from Spain and the other from Latin America. The award ceremony took place within the framework of the 2015 ARCOmadrid International Contemporary Art Fair. Painter Antonio López was entrusted with giving the awards. Ana Botella, Mayor of Madrid and the event's presenter, spoke about the important role of patronage in the art world, emphasizing that "without it and without public and private support, many works of art would not last." The jury was formed by Miguel Zugaza, president of the Museo del Prado; writer Carmen Posadas; Javier Nadal, president of the Asociación Española de Fundaciones; and Carmen Iglesias, president of the Academia de la Historia.
