Born in Huajuapan de León, Oaxaca, Mexico in 1957, he was first educated at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas, Academia de San Carlos, UNAM, in Mexico City from 1973-1974 and later at Escuela de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado, La Esmeralda NBA, in Mexico City from 1975-1980. He has exhibited throughout Mexico, the United States, and Germany and featured in many of the important national collections in Mexico.
