Local Project gains momentum as a space open to art

Local Project was created in the Long Island City, New York, with the purpose of offering a pace for creation. Local Project is a non-profit organization devoted to building an open forum for artists and the exhibition of their works. After year¿s effort, this space has established itself in the promotion of artists who seek to interact through their cultures and explore their diversity. Local Project seeks to interact with the community, and for that purpose it has recruited a number of young promoters who come from different fields, such as visual artist Ana Blanco, who coordinates workshops and works in different areas. Currently the project is involved in its first silent auction, with works representing the way in which the community acts, reacts and interrelates on the basis of the influence or the opposition of other, different communities.
