"Benito Quinquela Martín" National Salon of Painting

With the objective of promoting and rewarding contemporary artistic manifestations generated in Argentina, the Museo de Bellas Artes "Benito Quinquela Martín" and the Culture Commission of the Boca Juniors Athletic Club, announce the opening of the call for participation in the ¿Benito Quinquela Martin¿ National Salon of Painting. The call is open to Argentine and international artists¿with more than five years of residence in Argentina-over the age of 18. From among the total proposals entered in the competition, the jury will select fifty artworks to be exhibited this year at the seventh edition of the "Benito Quinquela Martin" National Painting Prize. The prizes are as follows: the First Prize winner will receive a purse of $5,000 USD and an invitation to present a solo show at a yet to be determined date in 2011, at the Eduardo Sívori exhibition hall of the Museo Benito Quinquela Martín. The winner of the Second Prize will get a purse of $3,000 USD, and an invitation to present a solo show at the M. C. Victorica exhibition hall of the Museo Benito Quinquela Martín, at a yet to be determined date in 2011. These works will become part of the cultural heritage of the Boca Juniors Athletic Club. And lastly, the Third Prize winner will receive $2,000 USD. Additionally, three honorable mentions will be awarded, and each will consist of a diploma and a medal. The jury will also be able to grant three additional special mentions. The deadline to enter all works is October 18, 2010.
