The Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín - MAMM opened the new "Sala D J. Mario Aristizábal" with an exhibition in homage to Débora Arango.
Room D is a space of 96 square meters, built in tribute to J. Mario Aristizábal Correa (member of the museum's board for over 20 years), in the Talleres Robledo building. It will host some temporary exhibitions and new projects to give visibility to the work of more artists. Conconcreto and Lina Correa Mejía supported the construction of this new space.
The gallery opens with the exhibition "Débora Arango and Social Denunciation, 1940 - 1958", which brings together eighteen works by the artist that gives testimony of what Medellín was like at the time, highlighting social problems such as poverty, inequality, education, and the unequal treatment to women.
