Rogelio Polesello

A retrospective exhibition by Argentine artist Rogelio Polesello will present a selection of about 80 works that belong to public and private collections, including historical works, paintings and acrylics produced from the late '50s to the mid-1970s. This exhibition began to take shape two years ago with Polesello's involvement. Since then, the museum's staff began cataloging archival material that contains a comprehensive record of the artist's photos, documents, including correspondence with other artists, dealers, collectors, curators and institutions. The archive reflects Polesello's vast artistic production and his multiple relationships in the art world and in other disciplines such as design, cinema, architecture and fashion, among others. The exhibition will show the relevance of his work over more than five decades, a period in which the artist explored the possibilities of geometric abstraction through painting, printmaking and some acrylics objects, and pieces capable of generating optical effects that break the image apart. The show will be accompanied by a bilingual catalog (English and Spanish) conceived to serve as reference for Polesello's historical production.
