Early last August, 10 paintings by important artists of the Sixteenth and Seventeenth centuries, valued at 4 million Euros, were stolen from the Holy Spirit Hospital in Sassi. Among the pieces, which were being restored, were mannerists paintings such as Parmigianino¿s Holy Family, the Flagellation by il Cavalier D¿Arpino and Giovanni Lanfranco¿s Head of an Old Man.
