Riachuelo. Entre la bruma y el resplandor

The exhibition Riachuelo: Entre la bruma y el resplandor is now open to the public, bringing together a selection of works connected with the dreams and realities of more than 3.3 million people who live in a time of air, water, and soil contamination and aspire to a clean, more prosperous future.

The 64-km Matanza-Riachuelo river (it is called Riachuelo at its mouth and Matanza for most of its course) forms a 2,238 square-meter basin. The selection of paintings, engravings, photographs, installations, and videos included in the exhibition brings forth a variety of points of view about this wide area, revealing a wide array of contrasts, opportunities, and hopes.

Curated by Victoria Verlichak, the exhibition is presided by a Quinquela Martín work and includes the participation of artists like Nicolás García Uriburu, Augusto Zanela, Marcos López, Alberto Goldenstein, Esteban Pastorino, Juliana Ceci, Fabián Attila, Viviana Macías, and Juan Ranieri. The roster is completed with the Paralelo 58 group, Supersudaca, Julián d'Angiolillo, Sub (photographer's cooperative), and the work of children and adolescents from the Isla Maciel Photography Workshop (Miguel Bru Association) and the Florito Beauty and Happiness Workshop.
