Residency for Foreign Curator in Bogota

Aimed at promoting artistic and cultural practices, the Fundación Gilberto Álzate Avendaño, through the District Stimulus Program of the Secretaría de Cultura, Recreación y Deporte, offers financial support or payment in kind with resources, to promote and encourage participative processes that connect agents in the art field with the citizenry through research, creation, education, circulation and appropriation of disciplinary and interdisciplinary practices of the visual arts, science and technology. It is with that in mind that the organizers launch the call Residency for Foreign Curator in Bogota, with the objective of developing a curatorial research and an exhibition based on the local artistic production. The exhibition must be presented in a well-known space of a foreign country with the logistic production of the FUGA. This residency aims at establishing exchanges between agents in the field of the visual arts in Colombia and their counterparts around the world. The selected curator will receive assistance from an advisor during his/her research and will participate in encounters organized by FUGA with various agents from the artistic field. The call is directed to foreign curators with professional experience. Place and execution time: The residency must be completed in a period that begins in July 2014 and ends by April 2015, with a minimum duration of six (6) weeks. The exhibition must occur before November 2015.
