The Fundación Antonio Gala para Jóvenes Creadores, in collaboration with the Universidad de Salamanca, the Fundaçâo Robinson, the Fundaçâo Eugénio de Almeida, the Municipal Chamber in Serpa and the Centro de Estudios Ibéricos, co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development, announces the opening of its 14th call to support and promote the creative endeavor of young artists in several modalities. These scholarships are primarily intended to encourage interaction between different branches in the world of art and culture. The aim is to offer young individuals with promising trajectories in their respective disciplines—fiction, poetry, theater, music composition, painting and sculpture, among others—the opportunity to develop their creative projects during the 2015-2016 academic year. As part of the same period, the Fundación Antonio Gala para Jóvenes Creadores offers a special residency for the development of a research project centered on a concrete aspect of the work or life of Antonio Gala. The call is open to creators and researchers of any nationality. Candidates are required to speak Spanish and be between the ages of 18 and 25 (by the call's last application day). The residency consists of a stay at the foundation (Cordoba, Spain) from October 2015 to June of 2016. During this time, participants must exclusively concentrate their efforts in the development of the project that they were selected for, and they must also remain in the residency space for the duration of their stay, unless they have an exceptional or justified reason not to. Accommodations and living expenses, along with the cost of materials and of the working spaces necessary for the development of the residents' creative projects will be covered by the foundation. The spending limit for the materials used for each project will be determined by the foundation's board and it will depend on the available budget. The call offers a total of eighteen (18) residencies. The foundation reserves the right award all of them or only part of them. Candidates can not apply for more than one type of residency and must submit the required paperwork. The list is included in the rules for the call that is available at the foundation's homepage. Applications may be submitted from January 24 to March 31, 2015. The selection of candidates and final interviews will be entrusted to members of the foundation's board, experts in several fields of creation, from May 14 to June 1, 2015. The announcement of the candidates selected will be published online at
www.fundacionantoniogala.org through the month of June 2015. The complete rules of the call are available at
