An operative by the police at the beginning of the month of August led to the recovery of the oil painting Mulheres na Janela (Women in a Window, 1926) by Brazilian artist Emiliano Di Cavalcanti and of the watercolor O Casal (The Couple, 1919) by Lithuanian-Brazilian artist Lasar Segall. Likewise, on July 18 Picasso¿s engraving The Painter and the Model (1963) was also recovered. Following confirmation of its authenticity, it was announced that Pablo Picasso¿s print Minotaur, Drinker and Women, which had been stolen this past June 12 from the Estacao Pinacoteca Museum in São Paulo, was recovered. The engraving found by the police had been abandoned on the side of a highway in the eastern section of São Paulo. It was the last of the works to be found. In addition to recuperating these works, police officials were also able to capture three men who were identified thanks to the security cameras at the Pinacoteca, located in downtown São Paulo.
