“Realidades en conflicto” Arrives in Medellin

After its passage through Bogotá, the exhibition "Realidades en conflicto" is now at the Museo Universitario de Antioquia, in Medellin, where it will remain open to the public through May 30th, 2015. The show, made possible by the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Colombia, the Universidad de Antioquia, and the ArtNexus Foundation, presents a panoramic view of a theme that remains forcefully present in Latin American Art: the social and political crisis of recent decades. With each work, curators Francine Birbragher and Óscar Roldán invite us to reflect about issues that have deep echoes in contemporary art. "Social movements, political dynamics, generalized violence, war as an effect and an abuse of power are some of the themes engaged by the works of the Latin American artists selected for this project". The exhibition is accompanied by an illustrated catalog, published by Proyecto Bachue and the ArtNexus Foundation.
