The call is open for participation in a public art project in the city of Delhi. Individual artists and artist collectives from around the world are invited to participate with projects that deal with environmental and ecological themes ¿ as these relate to public spaces ¿ from an artistic perspective that generates awareness about our effect on the environment. The residence will cover city-based research on eight public sites in Delhi that can be seen at: http://www.48c.org/spaces.html Applications must include a complete biography of the artist and images of previous projects, as well as a proposal for the participating project that includes a budget for its development. Applications must be sent to: publicart@khojworkshop.org before September 30, 2009. Beginning in January 2010, the 4¿6-week residence is organized by the Khoj International Artists¿ Association. The purpose of this institution is to serve as a greenhouse for artistic ideas, as well as for their development and exchange through dialogues on the visual arts, through residence programs that have already attained the development of several art forms, such as art media, performance, video, public art, sound, and other forms of cultural experimentation.
