The National Endowment for the Arts (FNA) in Argentina announces its call for curatorial projects. The call is open to curators, visual artists, art critics, theoreticians and any other person involved in art-related practices or studies, of any age and nationality, who resides in Argentina. The proposals will compete to participate in an exhibition at the Sede Alsina of the FNA. Proposal should be conceptualized for a group exhibition—with no less than 5 or more than 14 participating artists—that will not be limited to any particular theme or artistic discipline. Priority will be given to projects involving artists from different provinces of Argentina presented alongside projects by artists from the art scene in Buenos Aires. The curatorship may be developed by one or several individuals and the curatorial project must be original and unpublished. At least one proposal will be selected to be presented in October of 2015. The jury may also choose to select another proposal to be presented in December of 2015. Proposals must be submitted by mail in a single PDF to: artesvisualesfna@fnartes.gov.ar. The PDF must include: Title of the Exhibition. •Curatorial concept. (text: no longer than 1 A4 page, written in Arial Font 11 points) •Lay-out description of the curatorial proposal (no longer than 1 A4 page, written in Arial Font 11 points) •Name of the participating artists •Images of the works and/or projects intervened at the exhibition space, with specifications: Title of work, media, dimensions and date. •Sketch of the exhibition layout •Curators must present a budget estimate of the expenses required to mount the exhibition, which must not exceed the amount granted in the current competition. If the expenses surpass the budget, the curator must notify the organizers in writing that he/she assumes responsibility for the extra costs. About the artists and curators: •Complete information about all participants (Artists and Curator/s): •Name and last name, official government-issued ID card or passport, date and place of birth, current home address, zip code, city and country of residence. Telephone numbers and email addresses of all participants. •A written statement from each artist that indicate his/her willingness to participate. •CV of each participant (Artists and Curator/s). The CVs must be written in third person and in simple past tense (He/she studied, lived, presented, etc...) and must not be longer than 20 lines. CVs must include: Name and last name, email address, place and date of birth, current place of residence and time living there (if different from place of birth); exhibitions in which he/she have participated (if any). CVs that do not conform to these requirements will not be accepted. •Any additional material considered necessary for the proper interpretation of the curatorial project may be included. The FNA will allocate a total budget of $15,000 Argentine pesos to cover the curatorial production and salaries. The total amount going to cover the salaries for the curators and/or artists must not exceed 50 percent of the total budget. The deadline to submit all applications is August 20, 2015.
